Dominique Ropion
Dominique Ropion (born 1955) is a French master perfumer widely regarded as one of the most accomplished fragrance creators of his generation. Born in Paris, he trained at Roure Bertrand Dupont, now known as the Givaudan Perfumery School, in Grasse. After joining International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 2000, Ropion has created fragrances for a distinguished roster of brands including Christian Dior, Thierry Mugler, Lancome, Givenchy, Frederic Malle, Issey Miyake, Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and The Body Shop. Among his notable creations are Accenti, Cologne Indelebile, and Mutiny.
Ropion's contributions to the fragrance industry have been recognized with numerous honors. He received the Cosmetique Magazine Oscar in 2010 and the Cosmetic Valley's International Fragrance Prize, also known as the Prix Francois Coty, in 2008. In 2012, he was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a prestigious French cultural distinction. He received the title of Master Perfumer in 2018, a recognition of his decades of creative excellence at IFF.
