René Lacoste and André Gillier co-founded this French fashion house in 1933. The brand is best recognized for its signature polo shirts bearing the iconic green crocodile emblem, originally offered exclusively in classic white for the tennis court before expanding to additional colors beginning in 1952. Beyond its clothing, footwear, and watch lines, Lacoste has built a dedicated fragrance portfolio. The polo shirt became a defining garment of the early 1980s preppy movement and remains one of the company's most popular items, endorsed over the years by prominent tennis players including Andy Roddick.
